Our Hiring Process

Stage 1

Application Review

The TNG Human Resources team, and the hiring manager, will review your application to see how your interests, skills, and experience match our needs. We try to review applications as they are received, and promptly get in touch with candidates we want to get to know more about!
Stage 2

Phone Interview

We first have an up to 30-minute phone conversation with you to learn more about:
  • Your background and how it matches with our needs
  • Your future career interests
  • What you find interesting about TNG
  • Your hopes for compensation should you be offered this job
We will share with you information about:
  • The company
  • The position and department
  • Our culture and benefits
Stage 3

Manager Interview

The Hiring Manager will meet with you (by Zoom or in person) to learn more about your experience, skills, and interests, and to share more about the position and associated responsibilities, and the team with which you'd work. This is the time to ask specific, detailed, questions about what you'd be doing and resources you would have to help you.
Stage 4

Presentation

As developing and delivering training presentations are a significant portion of TNG consulting work, we will ask you to develop and deliver a short presentation on an assigned subject. The topic will be related to the subject matter on which you'd focus in the job (e.g. Title IX or Behavioral Intervention/Threat Assessment).

You'll deliver your presentation via Zoom to a panel of TNG staff, who are looking forward to hearing what you have to share and answering questions you may have about working for TNG.
Stage 5

Reference Check & Offer

We've learned all about you, you've learned about us, and we hope to "make a match!"

The final step before we make an offer is to speak with a few of your professional references. This is typically three individuals with whom you've worked, ideally one of which has served as your supervisor.

Once those conversations are done, we will email you an offer package with details about the role, location, compensation, and benefits. It's an exciting time and we look forward to making offers and hearing acceptances!
Stage 6

Hired!

Following your accepting the offer, we will initiate a basic background check. We conduct background checks because we work on some sensitive topics. With students as part of our clientele, we need to do our "due diligence" to provide staff who are qualified and appropriate in every way to work in these settings.
